In the context of true crime, hair refers to human or animal hair found at a crime scene, on a victim, or on a suspect, and which is used as potentially crucial evidence in an investigation. Its forensic significance lies in its ability to connect individuals to places or to each other, often through microscopic analysis or, more importantly, DNA analysis, making it a central element in many criminal cases.
